The new creation by the collective (LA)HORDE continues to explore dance as a means of transgressing imposed narratives. Après moi, le déluge ("After me, the flood") emerges as a turning point in a fragile moment when the world seems to tremble. From the dancers arise monstrous figures that recreate the structures shaping our world: power, legacy, domination, but also the possibility of transformation. Founded in 2013, (LA)HORDE is a collective of choreographers and visual artists that took over the direction of the National Ballet of Marseille in 2019. Since its inception, it has worked with communities on the margins of mainstream culture, exploring the political power of dance. Its practice is deeply transdisciplinary, combining choreography, visual arts, and cinematography. In the 2024-25 season, we saw the piece Age of Content at the Mercat. Choreographer Roland Petit founded the Ballets de Marseille in 1974, and in 1984 it became the National Ballet of France.
